Celebrate Wimbledon and Royal Ascot in Dubai with brunch

The London Social brunches are taking place in June and July

Celebrate Wimbledon and Royal Ascot in Dubai with brunch
The summer sporting and social calendar is ramping up – and just because we’re out in the desert it doesn’t mean we’re willing to miss out on the occasion.
The London Social Brunch at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai is hosting two special brunches in celebration of major British sporting occasions.
This Friday (June 22) it’s the Royal Ascot edition, with a nod to the famous horseracing meeting that’s taking place in the UK this week. And if you’re more a fan of Federer than Frankie Dettori, then it’s time to book the Wimbledon version on Friday July 13.
The Royal Ascot Edition brunch will kick off this Friday (June 22), with a racecourse setting, where you’ll get a glass of bubbly on arrival, before taking a jaunt to the caviar station in the “Royal Enclosure”. Very swanky.
Then it’s time to trot on over to the “Village Enclosure” where you can get stuck into a load of British favourites including sausage rolls, sweet and savoury flapjacks and a whole load of pies.
In true Royal Ascot style, you’ll be expected to dig out your fanciest gladrags for the occasion and the best-dressed on the day will be given a prize.
As you might expect, the Wimbledon brunch isn’t far behind in terms of flair.
You’ll be welcomed with the classic British summertime drink before getting your picture taken with The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai’s very own hawk mascot, before being served culinary treats by ball boys and girls.
There will be strawberries and cream, courtside cakes and a take on Wimbledon’s famous picnic box, with a sandwich selection, Devonshire scones and a variety of afternoon tea http://www.timeoutdubai.com/restaurants/features/81796-best-afternoon-te... pastries.
As well as British pub grub classics and hearty puddings, London Social will celebrate the diversity of the English capital with the spices of Banglatown, Brixton and Little Beirut, to the bustling stalls of China Town, Little Italy and Borough Market.
Both brunches will have a tonne of trivia as well as a themes quiz – and there’ll be a live duo performing old and new British tunes to get your toes tapping.

So it maybe verging on 40-degrees outside, but at least you’ll feel like you’re in Blighty here.
