We do love a food challenge here at Time Out Dubai. We've tackled everything from burn-in-your-mouth spicy flatbreads to giant 10,000 calorie ice cream sundaes. Not to mention ordering everything from a mall food court (which went just as well as you'd expect).
But we think we might have just discovered the food challenge to end all challenges, and it's not going to be easy.
Canadian eatery eggspectation is turning 25 this year, and to celebrate it is challenging diners to finish a mammoth stack of 25 pancakes in just 25 minutes.
And if you're expecting (eggs-pecting?) a paltry mound of Silver Dollars, then you couldn't be more wrong.
Oh no, the challenge here involves an enormous pillar of thick, spongey pancakes all topped with a drizzle of maple syrup and a handful of berries.
But there's some good news. You're allowed to have up to four people attempting to get through the stack, and if you do it in the time limit it's completely free.
Victorious tables will also take home a voucher to come back and enjoy a less pancake-y meal.
The competition is running at the City Walk and The Beach at JBR branches from next week. We’ll be bringing you the full details on pricing as soon as we have them.
And if you’ve not had enough after working your way through the enormous mound, then you can head for Clinton St. Baking Company.
It’s offering seven unique flavours throughout July as part of its pancake month, including blackberry crumble, apple pie, passionfruit and chocolate, maple pecan, saffron and pistachio, coconut and pineapple and raspberry and chocolate.
The pancakes cost Dhs59 a batch and we suggest you stack them up.
So what are you waiting for? Grab your cutlery and we'll see you at the table.
