Fancy dining like royalty? Then it’s time to book in for the summer brunch on the QE2.

The ship is hosting a one-off brunch this Friday (July 20) at The Lido on its Quarter Deck. But there’s even better news, as the occasion is set to be a regular fixture later this year.

The brunch will boast classic a British roast dinner, seafood counters and live cooking stations. There will also be salads, cheeses and desserts to tuck into.

And on top of all that feasting there’s set to be live music and a special kids’ buffet, too.

The Queen Elizabeth 2 went on her maiden voyage in 1969, and is now refreshed as a fully-functioning floating hotel, docked in Port Rashid in Deira.

The 13-deck hotel opened in April, and boasts 224 refurbished rooms and suites. The hotel is kitted-out as it was then, for a touch of nostalgia.

It will also have 13 restaurant and nightlife venues, a shopping arcade as well as cinema. Not all the dining options have been revealed yet, but there’s currently The Queen’s Grill, a fine-dining restaurant with a menu modelled on the original including dishes such as lobster bisque, smoked salmon, black Angus beef tenderloin, baked Pollock and mushroom risotto.

There’s also a traditional British pub – The Golden Lion – which is as it was in the ship’s heyday, decked out with a dart board and a two for one happy hour from 4pm until 8pm, Saturday to Thursday.

Guests enter the ship from the terminal, which has been turned into a maritime museum featuring artworks from the ship and showcasing its history at sea, to learn a little more about it.

We'll see you at The Lido.
