Time Out Says
A giant scoreboard takes pride of place and the flags of South Africa, Australia and New Zealand (the bar takes its name and inspiration for its menu from the trio of Southern Hemisphere nations) adorn the walls. The vibrant venue is undoubtedly a perfect spot to catch the match with your mates, but there’s also plenty to munch on during a crunch clash.
We kick off with a super starter of bite-sized calamari rings, given an extra kick by a handful of jalapeños. The second half of our meal delivers the goods as well. Feeding off the bar’s South African influences, we decide to tackle the bunny chow, which can make a claim for being the best thing since sliced bread. A delightful South African chicken curry is poured into a hollowed out loaf, making for a rich and delicious alternative to your bog-standard sandwich filler.
A lively sports bar vibe backed up by restaurant-quality grub, you’ll be game for another visit.
The bottom line
Great for games and food.
