Time Out Says

From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2008

There’s something very Buck Rogers about kaiten – or conveyor belt – sushi. All those neat, morsel-sized portions whirring past, served on colour-coded plates, just waiting to be scoffed. This is high-paced food born from a high-paced culture. Noodle Planet fills its kaiten role well – serving up good value, no frills Japanese food in a homely way.

This allows the diner to fill their boots with plates of pert salmon and hammour nigiri, and compact Californian maki with asparagus, crabstick and avocado, frosted with luminous green flying fish roe, with little effort.

They do have a menu that includes noodles and rice dishes if you’re so inclined – a bowl of edamame (fresh soya beans still in the pods) is always a treat – and there’s a nice selection of freshly squeezed juices for parched throats.
