Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor's Indian restaurant at Mövenpick Hotel Deira

Time Out Says

After the success of the original branch, Options by Sanjeev Kapoor has expanded to this second location in the Mövenpick Hotel Deira. Having seemingly gone for an opulent effect with the decor, it sadly looks a bit tacky and overblown with red velvet and plastic-looking shiny things hanging from everywhere you look. Service is well meaning, but lacks a little polish. Still, there is some excitement to be had in seeing chefs at work in the central, circular open kitchen. On the menu, the selection is classic and varied, and while it might not be mind-blowing stuff, it is generally well prepared and consistent. Try the buttery black dal, or signature dish shaam savera, a kebab of creamy, fresh paneer and spinach in tomato sauce. However, as you’re in Deira, we’d suggest there is more vibrant Indian cooking to be had in the district, albeit at lower-key establishments.
