Time Out Says
Getting to pai thai is an experience in itself. Take an abra through the Madinat’s tranquil waterways and appreciate lovely views of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah – or if you’re starving and just want to get straight to the main event, staff will zip you there at record speed in one of the hotel buggies.
We recommend sitting on the terrace if the weather allows. You’ll be overlooking those said waters that you may or may not have just travelled over, and such are the quaint surroundings and authentic interiors that you could be easily sat waterside on a Thai island.
Inside is dark and understated. It still feels high-end but effortlessly so, and the vibe here is relaxed and intimate.
It’s the ideal spot for a special occasion or romantic dinner date. And the experience will only improve with the food, all of which is tasty and made with good quality ingredients.
Kick off with the starter sampler – a platter full of Thai bites, starring meaty prawn cakes, sticky sweet crispy beef, chicken satay skewers and crispy spring rolls.
The main menu includes a range of fragrant curries, tasty stir-fries and crunchy vegetable dishes. Everything is excellent – including the tap tim krob dessert, which is a mix of water chestnuts, sugar syrup, coconut milk and ice.
If you fancy getting away from it all, and filling your boots at the same time, then Pai Thai is the place to do it.
