Time Out Says
This branch of the popular chain has a central location on The Walk, JBR. Inside, there’s a bucolic French air with images of cute countryside scenes, pastel-coloured furniture, and large wooden dining tables. Staff are friendly and welcoming, but can be a bit over-keen sometimes. The menu remains as true to the Gallic theme as the decor does, with onion soup, salads, and quiches to start, while the mains include steaks, sea bass and a large selection of well-filled sandwiches. The sea bass, served with roast potatoes and vegetables, is often recommended by the staff, and while the fillets of fish are well-cooked, the meat is a tad bland. If you have a sweet tooth, leave space for dessert, the tempting pastries and gateaux on display at the front of the restaurant are easily the highlight of the meal.
