Time Out Says
If ever you were looking for an elegant venue for a special occasion or romantic evening for two, Prime Steakhouse has it nailed. From the gorgeous fixtures and fittings that are stylishly decadent without being too showy, to the fantastic cuts of meat and delightful desserts, to the superb service that is both attentive and unobtrusive, this restaurant is a credit to The Meydan Hotel. The starters menu contains some enticing options, with the seared hand-dived sea scallops with fresh peas, beetroot and carrot velvet being a highlight. However, it’s when you take your first bite into one of the sublime steaks that you really see Prime shine. The Tajima wagyu beef rib-eye is certainly worth shelling out for, the quality of the cut evident with each morsel, while the tenderloin of Rangers Valley black Angus gives it a run for its money. Each steak comes with one side and a sauce, and we highly recommend the medley of wild mushrooms. As for desserts, well, the cheesecakes here could convert the most hardened of haters. And even those with an aversion to classical music can’t fail to enjoy the soundtrack, accentuated by an interlude from a live pianist.
