Quirky Eastern European restaurant is let down by slow service
Time Out Says
You can’t miss Pushkin on the end of the Amwaj section of JBR, since it’s heralded by tall flags and the sound of techno blaring out of two speakers flanking the doorway. The interior is equally bizarre – a glass sculpture of a man’s torso stands pride of place at one end of the restaurant and is flanked by what look to be Christmas trees. Food is a little more straightforward – classic dishes such as borsch, dumplings and chicken kiev litter the menu. While food is relatively well prepared, it’s let down by snail-paced service. Worth dropping in for the curious and aficionados of the kitsch, but perhaps not for the hungry and impatient.
