Time Out Says

Full disclosure. Qwerty is based just a few minutes from us here at Time Out towers. Access to the bar, which is still in its infancy, is not a problem. But it still needs to do its thing well to keep us going back.

While the biggest draw after opening was its cool outdoor area (which is pretty much a no-go now the summer is in full swing) the two-for-one happy hour has continued to entice people indoors. There are some quirky pieces of pop-art on the walls, but the rest of the venue feels pretty safe.

The menu, on first glance, does, too, with a sprinkling of international bar bites alongside traditional British pub grub. But get this. The food is really, really good. Tuck into those familiar nostalgic dishes such as Scotch eggs and sausage rolls (made with veal) and you’ll see what we mean.

The roast dinners will transport you to Blighty. Even the humble cheese toastie is done with style here, and tastes fantastic.

In fact, it’s probably the best we’ve eaten. Anywhere.

And dishes like that, with minimum fuss and at affordable prices, make Qwerty a venue that’s worth travelling to.

The bottom line
Bar food so good it makes it more than just a post-work hangout.
