Time Out Says
Take a seat inside at Rare and you’ll find a dark restaurant. But you don’t want to eat in here. If the weather is right, get yourself out on the terrace that overlooks the polo fields. It’s romantic and not something many places in Dubai can offer. Rare doesn’t have the most diverse menu, even on the meat front. But the menu does come with a detailed description of the marbling score and how this affects the meat. There’s even a line about cow massaging, should you be interested. And all of this clearly works as the food is very good indded, all tasty and nearly presented. There’s also a strong fish selection, and this is arguably the restaurant’s strong point. The miso black cod, for example, stands up to its equivalent in Nobu or Zuma, and is worth a trip here alone. This place is good and serves its Desert Palm community well. There’s just one thing that can’t be ignored, though, and that’s the distance from the established residential areas in Dubai. We're not being flippant when we say that this is otherwise a restaurant worthy of an award.
