Ravioli & Co
Time Out Says
Ravioli. It’s an awfully niche concept to hang your hat on, but hang its hat Ravioli & Co does. That being said, the team aren’t complete risk-takers – there’s also gnocchi, a few risotto dishes and some other pasta varieties on the menu. But by golly, we came here for a reason and, thankfully, it’s a hit (phew).
The pasta itself is fresh and there’s a burst of magnificent flavour as the bundles split to reveal the filling inside.
We try the tortelloni verdi ricotta e spinach. The green tortellini is stuffed with ricotta cheese, spinach and walnut sauce. It’s creamy, yet light, and the walnut gives a lovely earthy quality.
Also worth a mention is the capellacci stuffed with pumpkin and porcini sauce, which is moreish and fresh.
On first impression we feel as though the portions are small, but midway through our main dish we begin to appreciate that there is only so much ravioli that one person can handle.
The restaurant itself is lovely, with rustic interiors and our charming waiter is as enthusiastic about ravioli as it gets. Luckily the main event lives up to the hype and we can safely say we’ll be back for more cushions of stuffed goodness in the very near future.
The bottom line
One for pasta-lovers to get into.
