For many, Aquara in the Marina Yacht Club is known as a Thursday post-work drinking venue, due to the harbour views and generous happy hour. The 'high-end seafood eatery' side of the establishment, therefore, seems to have to compete with the noisy bar located within it. Still, get past the jumble of elements and it is possible to enjoy a satisfying meal. While service can be a little on the slow side, wait staff are pleasant, and the buzz of the thriving bar is infectious (you just have to speak a little louder to your dining partner). The menu is concise, with a handful of hot and cold appetisers and a decent selection of seafood (old favourites such as salmon sit alongside baked black bream), along with meat and even seared foie gras. The food that arrives is artfully presented, tastes as good as it looks and certainly doesn't sicken when the reasonable bill arrives.
A fairly high-end restaurant, located next to a pumping bar, with great Marina views
