Revo Café

A cute, kitsch spot that’s worth detouring to the Palm for

Time Out Says

Blink and you’ll miss it, Revo Café is nestled at the far reaches of the Palm’s east crescent. It’s lovely inside
with lots of warm woods, a bookshelf to browse and eclectic patchwork furniture, while the floor-to-ceiling windows offer beautiful coastline views.

The menu takes you through all the usual suspects – sandwiches, salads, soups, mains, breakfast and a dedicated eggs section – plus there’s a cabinet of elaborate cakes and pastries. There’s a good spread of healthy versus non-healthy food, too, with dishes such as soya organic bircher muesli sitting happily alongside beef short ribs. And you can even wash it all down with a pint.

We’re thoroughly impressed by everything we try. The full English comes with proper baked beans (surprisingly difficult to find in Dubai’s cafés), crusty sourdough bread and perfect, golden hash browns.

But the star of the show is the fish and chips. Sublimely tender, flaky haddock is encased in perfect, crisp batter to douse in malt vinegar and served with stunning buttery, minty “mushy” peas. We’d happily head back for those alone. Paired with the sea views, it’s the best plate we’ve had in a while.

The bottom line

Order the fish and chips. Like, now.
