Bright and airy cafe at the top of Wafi that still has a lot of growing to do
Time Out Says
Having opened in 2012, this new café is still very much teething. Set right at the top of the glass pyramid that’s Wafi shopping centre, the airy setting – with seats swirling around its perimeter and sofas for lounging on while watching movies on the flat-screen TVs – makes it a great mall stop off. The menu is unfussy, but attention to the quality of ingredients and presentation is lacking. In the spicy chilli chicken sandwich, the meat is tough; the pasta in the penne arrabiata is overcooked and the Arabic-sounding labneh sandwich comes served in a sub roll as opposed to on traditional bread. The drinks do much better – the blueberry milkshake is fresh, fruity and not too sweet. But service is erratic at best – staff come across flustered (and we visited during a quiet period). That said, if you happen to be shopping at Wafi and fancy a bite, the ambience here is one of the best for a mall coffee shop offering.
