Time Out Says
Sometimes you just want somewhere that’s easy – where vegan, veggie, carnivore and kids can come together at one table and get their scran on. Well we’re here to tell you that Sarabeth’s is that place, and what it boasts in variety it matches in substance.
The New York import is famed for its frequent celeb visits stateside, with Kanye West, Taylor Swift Kate Upton being fans, and if it’s good enough for Yeezy, it will do for us.
The café in City Walk has a new vegan menu – and it’s way more than just leaves.
The dishes are split into breakfasts, “salads and more” (see, we told you), desserts and sides and there’s a good variety under each section.
The organic açai bowl is layered with chopped banana, fresh berries, lotus seeds and pecan nuts and is fresh, fruity, crunchy and moreish all at once, and we devour in a manner that causes alarming brain freeze.
Another hit is the teriyaki tofu poke bowl with cauliflower rice, edamame beans, sesame seeds and cherry tomatoes, which is surprisingly filling given its low carb content.
To our delight the tofu is firm and flavoursome and also features as a standalone on the sides menu if you want to add it to another dish. Penne arrabiata and tofu, anyone? We told you anything goes.
There are also desserts on offer, including organic chia pudding with coconut milk and – wait for it – peach crumble tart.
It’s the stuff vegan dreams are made of, and we want it all.
