Time Out Says
There is a thin line between no frills and plain poor, and at times, Sarvana wavers on the line between the two. It's not an easy menu to work your way around, and staff often don't seem that happy to help you do it. Added to the canteen-type feel of the restaurant itself, it's not the warmest place to enjoy a meal. Many people seem to, however, as there is a constant stream of coaches pulling up with Indian families piling in. An expansive menu that stretches to almost five huge pages comes with no explanation whatsoever as what each dish actually is. To the uninitiated, it's something of a struggle, and we guess that with a little more help, plenty of people would shout from the rooftops about its authenticity and likely create a booming repeat customer business. Even when seeking explanation, a language barrier prevents any real knowledge being imparted. The food itself is actually pretty good. And bread is a must. Being a vegetarian place, tender meats you won’t find, but fun, mop-it-up sauces are abundant. As a quick stop off, Sarvana is fine.
