Time Out Says
Seedology is a quirky café, set back from the water, just off the road, so don’t be expecting top views. However, it’s a cool spot that’s worth a try – especially if you’re after healthy vegetarian food. The layout is a little random – there’s a handful of tables amid a shop, The Little Things, selling a variety of items from board games to kitchen utensils and novelty gifts.
As you’d expect from the name, vegans are well catered for here too, and there are loads of salads plus several different flavours of hummus.
There are also pizzas (which come with a rundown of calories) as well as juices, chia pots, smoothies and more.
Hungry? Opt for the Chef’s Mighty burger – a tasty chickpea patty in a soft bun. It’s smoky, with a slick of barbecue sauce.
The avocado toast is also worth a try, coming topped with beetroot hummus, sliced avo and a side of avocado salad – all spilling out of the shell. The presentation is careful and if you’re a fan of the ubiquitous green fruit you’ll be happy. And at Dhs40 it’s not as pricey as some alternatives out there, especially given the generous portion size.
The set-up may be a little odd, but Seedology is playful and fun, and for a healthy, quick meal packed full of veggies, try here.
