Time Out Says
But as we’re fans of both of those cuisines, we’re not put off. Sadly they’re not much to write home about when they actually arrive at this party venue.
The signature tofu dish is a miss – as instead of utilising the ultra-absorbent nature of the foodstuff to add flavour, it’s been battered and topped with a plain guacamole swirl.
The brie cheese croquettes are cold, and there’s barely any “famous figs’ jam” on top, too. The crunchy chilli cheese is slightly better, as is the calamari, but it’s just not enough to claw it back.
But the bar is still lively, and we can see why – it’s cool, laid-back and a whole lot of fun,. Plus dine during happy hour and you’ll get 50 percent off food.
The spot offers gorgeous views over the waterfall over the Dubai Water Canal, and both the windows and roof retract, exposing you to the glorious winter weather.
We’ll come here again, but we’re sticking to drinks next time (Dhs22.50 during happy hour is reason enough.).
