From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011
Sat at the flag-end of 2nd of December, Sidra is slightly more high end than Beirut and Al Mallah – the other two Arabic eateries that flank it, but only very slightly more expensive. Sidra is far bigger than its rivals, with a spacious alfresco area, full of bushes and shrubs, and a large indoor space, divided into two for the smokers and non-. Service is slow, as seems to be the way with restaurants that serve Arabic fare, and the food itself is mediocre: salads are oily and lack-lustre, meats are greasy and the halloumi so salty it can make you nauseas. Still, Sidra is the place to be at 4am post-party, when it becomes packed out with dressed up clubbers who just don’t want to go to bed quite yet.
