From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2008

Singaporean food is hard to come by in Dubai.

So get stuck into it here. The tauhu goreng makes for a decent starter – two massive chunks of fried tofu covered in crunchy, sweet peanut sauce, served with some slightly greasy spring rolls.

Move on to the mains and witness the splendour of dishes like the longtong sagur – no slouch in the flavour stakes, this challenging dish is a coconut-rich, curryish broth, full of soft rice cakes, tofu, hard boiled egg and boiled greens. Similarly, look out for the chicken nasi goreng, that solid Southeast Asian standby, here in all its solid, rice ’n’ spice glory.
