Social House

Time Out Says

If you don’t like sitting close to people you don’t know while you eat, this isn’t the place for you. Social House believes that eating should be a social activity, so backless benches close together and huge round tables seating up to eight people are the order of the day. In fairness, the close proximity of other diners provides perfect people-watching fodder and only adds to the buzzy, bustling vibe. Social House is a busy spot, and with good reason. The menu is enormous and offers everything from soup, salads and sushi to Malay curries, gourmet pizza and pasta dishes to traditional fish and chips. The latter is particularly noteworthy, especially if you’re very hungry; two huge pieces of juicy fish encased in crispy, flaky batter and accompanied by zingy home-made tartare sauce and roughly cut chips will fill you up in no time. Overall, it’s a good spot to have a quick, satisfying bite at a good price.
