Time Out Says
The café is huge, once of the biggest we’ve come across in this neck of the woods. We grab a seat along with all the other breakfasting groups and families in a curious al fresco area, that’s not really outdoors.
Children are welcome here, but don’t expect a kids’ menu or any added extras to keep them occupied. But there are dishes that will go down well, including buttermilk pancakes that are thick, fluffy and slathered in gooey maple syrup.
The breakfast menu is split in two – with choices limited to a bowl of healthy ingredients or eggs cooked in a variety of ways – plus the pancakes.
The generously-sized açai bowl, with sliced banana and agave bee pollen is a must-try and the homemade almond butter is worth shelling out the extra Dhs8 for. A heartier option, the morning bowl, consists of some serious superfood with sweet potato, avocado, kale and wild grains all packing the nutrients in, plus a poached egg provides you with your protein hit.
Coffee can be made with almond, coconut or lactose-free milk, too.
The food is tasty, the setting’s pretty, making it a solid choice for the ’gram – and breakfast.
