Spill the Bean

Guilt-free dining and some delicious dishes in Sustainable City

Time Out Says

It’s no ordinary menu at family-owned Spill The Bean café. Pride is taken in serving up wholesome sugar-, wheat- and dairy-free dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner at this new spot in The Sustainable City. Even the (sugar-free) cakes are deliciously healthy.

Spill The Bean, which was previously housed at Sunset Mall in Jumeirah, is rapidly becoming a family-friendly go-to brekkie spot in its new location.

It’s brightly coloured and fun, with a menu to match.

We kick off with an espresso milkshake and skinny cappuccino (hoping to counteract a rather early start).

Wholewheat French toast is a joy, made with coconut milk and drenched in sticky honey and almond slivers.

The portion is generous without being stodgy or too filling, while the honey adds just a touch of sweetness.

Mama’s egg sandwich is essentially a veggie omelette with wholegrain toast. It’s tasty, though we’d prefer the veg cooked through the mixture rather than folded in at the end.

Icy cold date and banana smoothies top off a healthy breakfast that leaves us with a slightly smug spring in our step.

An excellent spot for a laid-back, guilt-free meal, especially at breakfast time.

The bottom line
Dishes as healthy as they are delicious.
