Time Out Says
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011Sukh Sagar, which opened in 1962, used to be one of our favourite Indian spots in Dubai, its extensive and inventive all-vegetarian menu always delighted us, but sadly our last visit truly disappointed. Hygiene we found has gone downhill, what with dirty chairs and plates, unclean tables greeting our arrival and waiters with a penchant for violently clearing their throat mid service, and the menu has become hit and miss. They serve everything from southern Indian cuisine (the dosas are good) to Rajasthani flavours, and even Italian/Indian fusion and Chinese options.
The subzi humjoli is one to try, a vegetable fritter that comes with a rich tomato and spinach gravy, however, classics like the dahl are watery and not as good as the dozens of other options on offer. So, while some dishes here are great, there are so many cheap Indian restaurants in Bur Dubai and Karama that are consistent, which would be a better bet.
