JLT’s Turkish fast-food concept specialises in its namesake wraps, served by thoughtful, friendly staff
Time Out Says
Arriving at this lakeside venue, located amid several other casual eateries, you’ll find that the Turkish fast-food concept has a simple setup, centred around an open grill kitchen, with the ever-so-slight look of an Italian fast-food pizza place. The menu’s a simple page of wraps, sandwiches, salads and combo meal deals that combine the three. Tantuni takes its name from the traditional Turkish flatbread wrap, which dominates the menu. Service shines through and it is thoughtful and warm. We’d recommend the bostan salad, which the menu describes as a ‘rare Turkish delicacy’ (a liquidy mix of tomatoes in turnip juice), it’s light, fragrant and refreshing, with a delicate balance of sweet, salty and sour. The food here is much like the decor and the menu: simple and uncluttered, but pleasantly functional. For a quick and affordable bite in JLT, it’s worth a try.
