Time Out Says
Tasha’s in Galleria Mall is full of character, with wooden chairs, mismatched cutlery and bowls of fresh fruit scattered around the café. And with its contemporary white minimalist décor – a nod to the current trend on Dubai’s food scene – it’s where you want to start your day.
It’s packed when we arrive (and bear in mind that it doesn’t take any bookings), but we’re seated after just five minutes. The staff are bursting with suggestions, so we listen and order the breakfast royale – two poached eggs atop wilted spinach, served on a bed of seeded bread and finished with a lemon sauce, and the chicken brown salad served Middle Eastern-style.
Both meals are simple, fuss-free and “prepared with love”, as our friendly waiter reminds us, and upon first taste, this shows – the flavours and textures being perfectly balanced. There is something for everyone in the 40-something dishes on the breakfast list. Just remember to ask for the home-made condiment of green chillies in olive oil. If nothing else, it will certainly wake you up.
The bottom line
Perfect café for eggs on toast at weekends.
