Time Out Says

There’s something about getting away from the hustle and bustle, break-neck pace of life in the city every now and then that is massively under-rated. Indeed, The Farm is located in Dubai’s Al Barari neighbourhood, which literally translates to “wilderness”, and once you’ve made your way through this flora-laden oasis, you’ll get it.

Al Barari is found within touching distance of IMG Worlds of Adventure on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road – it’s a luscious, green community and its peacefulness is reflected beautifully at this unique, relaxing and gorgeous indoor and outdoor restaurant. Think lakes, ponds, overhanging trees, bushes and plantlife everywhere, and a thoroughly relaxing ambience.

Head over spontaneously on a weekend morning for a bite to eat and you may end up with a bit of a wait, because this place is heaving with families and couples from the local area and beyond – there are a number of different swings, slides and play areas to keep the kids occupied, which makes the restaurant enduringly popular with parents.

The menu features a number of from-scratch creations – freshly baked bread you can even purchase by-the-loaf on your way out, as well as home-made granola to top your very on-trend breakfast dishes like açaí bowls.

Great with allergies, the restaurant staff are happy to help, though there can be a bit of a wait for large groups during peak hours. And while you’re going to find dishes like muesli, avocado on toast, countless varieties of freshly made eggs and more during breakfast hours, there’s plenty to choose from too later in the day. The restaurant is open until 10.30pm every day, so for your dindins you’ll also find a range of fresh, health-conscious dishes like black bean and avocado salad, wild-baked salmon, seafood paella and even the paleo- and keto-friendly lamb shank with ratatouille. If you fancy more of a treat, check out the linguine bolognese, braised short ribs and rib-eye steak (hormone-free, of course).

For a wholesome, serene and refreshing dining experience, there are few places like this in the city, and it’s well worthy of your time and attention.
