The Fish House
Time Out Says
However, this charming restaurant – all light blues, white and turquoise inside, with a lovely terrace overlooking the Creek outside – may have changed our minds.
The super staff explain the catch of the day conundrum and we go for red snapper. Half of the 2.8kg beast is enough for two (and it comes with two sides and two sauces). We get it grilled and the charred, crispy skin as delicious as the brilliant white flesh is flaky and meaty. It’s more than enough, especially with sweet potato fries and roasted root veg on the side. Of the sauces, the zingy chermoula outshines a rather bland cumin rouille.
We also order a ceviche from the specials board, and while it’s nothing like the Peruvian staple, it is top-notch. A vibrant kale salad is tasty and grilled octopus also hits the spot.
Great views, good-value dishes and top service. An excellent option for fish fans.
The bottom line
A lovely addition to this part of town.
