Time Out Says
Of all the places in Dubai to get carnivorous, we’d probably rank The Hide up there with the best of them. Nestled on the ground floor of Jumeirah Al Qasr, the restaurant is striking, with exposed brick, leather booths, blocks of wood bearing meat cleavers and massive set of bull horns fixed to the wall.
It’s super-cool, rustic, low-lit, and exactly what you’d hope for any night of the week.
The vibe is laid-back and relaxed, and menu is something else completely. It’s classic American comfort food at its finest, and a meat fan’s dream.
Don’t miss the hot artichoke dip, quite accurately described as a “four-cheese apocalypse” on the menu. It is accompanied by crispy vegetables, so you won’t feel so guilty about the cataclysm of dairy you’re devouring. It’s delicious, and we scrape the pot clean before moving on to a stack of onion rings, which are substantial and delicious.
For mains, both the tenderloin and New York strip are completely delicious (although we favour the former), expertly cooked and work perfectly with a the rich peppercorn sauce.
The sides are extraordinary too – we’re blown away by the creamed Tuscan kale with gruyère cheese, which is as much a surprise to us as anyone. And if you love a cheesy carb, don’t miss the Parmesan mash.
With a relaxed vibe and top meat, add this one to your list.
