The Hutch Bistro
Time Out Says
The café’s menu is as illustrious as its location, featuring smoked quail’s eggs served with sea salt and a poultry pot-au-feu – signature broth made with chicken, quail and duck – a rich and hearty dish.
The coffee menu catches our attention, too, as every brew is served in oversized cups with the option of almond milk and unsweetened syrups. A rarity we’re pleased to note.
The three-egg omelette, stuffed with green onions, chicken, spinach and goat’s cheese is packed liberally with flavour and a generous dose of dairy. Across the table, the scrambled eggs prove beautifully creamy, if a little overpowered by the generous helping of oak-smoked salmon.
If you’re watching your waistline on your way to the shops, the fluffy egg white omelette with green salad will do the trick, while your non-dieting dining companion should get stuck into the even fluffier, perfectly textured and sized pancakes drizzled with agave syrup, with fresh berries on the side.
Whether the chicken or the egg comes first for you, The Hutch has got it covered.
The Bottom line
An attractive mid-shop pit stop.
