The Irish Village Studio City
Time Out Says
Riotously popular since opening, The Irish Village Studio City brings the renowned pub’s beloved menu to the other side of town, where it has been well received by the locals.
And after taking on board feedback from regulars, The Irish Village has expanded its menu to feature a new range of vegan starters and mains (including a pumpkin and chickpea curry), plus increased options for vegetarians.
But if you fall firmly outside of both of those categories, you’re still in the right place. Never more so, in fact, since the launch of a new weekend carvery deal.
It’s a great setting. Vibrant, airy and smoke-free (if a little brightly lit) inside, and breezy out on the first-floor terrace, which boasts a huge screen showing the day’s big sporting events. Service is generally swift and attentive, too.
All the better for getting your hands on the pub’s brilliant roast of the day. Or Irish stew. Or rib-eye steak and chips. And we’ve never knowingly visited any branch of The IV without ordering at least one round of chopped sausages.
Cottage pie, is another top pick – rich, meaty, topped with a typically generous dollop of creamy mash.
And if you’ve never tried the desserts, you’re doing yourself a disservice. Towering, home-made apple pie comes crammed with fresh fruit, and the banoffee pie is no less generous, topped with a very welcome cumulus cloud of whipped cream. Dreamy.
If you needed any further convincing, there aren’t many places in town where you can get a fry-up right up until 6pm.
The Irish Village – no fuss, no faff, just great pub grub.
