The Kebab Shop
Time Out Says
Those craving a good-old British version of the humble doner will be hard pushed to find a better one than this. The 100 percent chicken or lamb versions are perfectly spiced and served in a traditional pitta bread with salad, in a burger bun, wrapped in an omelette or combined with rice or fresh naan bread. You’ll also find seekh kebabs, spicy curries, biryani and some Pakistani specials like haleem (lentil and meat stew) and halwa puri (fried unleavened bread served with semolina pudding) served on certain days.
Favourite dish: The doner wrap with lamb, rolled into a chapatti with salad and lashings of garlic sauce and red chilli chutney. Don’t miss the saucy peri peri fries as an accompaniment. They’re addictive.
Average price: Less than Dhs100
