Time Out Says
So hopes are high when we set off to The Lighthouse in the city’s buzzing creative hub, d3 – Dubai Design District.
Within seconds of setting foot in the bright and airy spot, we can tell this is anything but a bog-standard restaurant. In fact, at first, we’re not entirely sure it’s a restaurant at all.
We spot a host of quirky handcrafted items for sale in the carefully curated space, but our minds are put at ease when we spot some dining tables. The Lighthouse has been designed to be a meeting point for the city’s forward-thinkers, where ideas are shared over meals, and the menu certainly sparks our imagination.
We start with calamari, fried beautifully to produce that lovely crispy texture. It’s topped off with spicy chilli and lime for a tempered kick. Our baby chicken main course is tender and juicy and leaves us longing for one more bite. A sweet treat of passion fruit cheesecake ends the night with a flourish.
This is a hip and happening spot that is sure to only go from strength to strength as d3 continues to grow.
The bottom line
Fine food served up in a stylish setting.
