The Noodle Room
This JBR-based restaurant offers al-fresco seating and an expansive Pan Asian menu
Time Out Says
Located at the foot of JBR’s Murjan building, this popular restaurant serves up tasty treats from Thailand, China and Indonesia. Popular choices include the dim sums, of which there are four types (prawn with chestnut, chicken, tofu and vegetable and steamed buns) and an assortment of noodle dishes such as pad Thai and Malaysian flat-rice noodle favourite char kway teow. Some dishes on the menu don’t specify whether they’re battered or deep fried, so make sure you enquire beforehand or you could end up with a meal that looks a like a heart attack waiting to happen. The wok-tossed calamari starter sounds appealing on the menu, tossed with garlic, ginger, spring onion and Szechuan spices, but it arrives on the table battered. Similarly, the Indonesian-style wok-fried prawns are covered in battered glug and served with sambal and wok-friend veggies. Likely to appease some tastes, although not others. But order wisely and you’ll be sitting pretty.
