Time Out Says

Rupee Room occupies a near pitch-perfect spot along Marina Walk, with the option to dine inside or sit outside among the venue’s smattering of clean white tables set back just enough from the gentle hustle and bustle of this busy waterside spot. It is a shame, then, that the food does not quite match up to the salubrious surrounds. The seekh kebab – minced lamb cooked with ginger and saffron – can be a little tough and dry; it could really do with some sort of accompanying sauce to liven it up. The king prawn pakora fares slightly better, although crispier batter would improve it. There are some decent dishes to be found, including the kadai chicken, which is suitably rich with a decent smattering of vegetables. Rupee Room does, however, boast a romantic setting. The atmosphere is convivial and there’s a plethora of boats to gaze at during the cooler months when you can enjoy dining outside.
