Time Out Says
Everything on the surface at Thiptara looks perfect, and you’ll be glad to learn it’s not just a façade. Staff are polite and endeavour to make the dining experience magical, not just relaying on the famous dancing Dubai Fountain to mesmerise and inject romance. Try to get a window seat in this dimly-lit spot to feel like your floating on Burj Lake. Dining here is very much about the visual experience. Take the stir-fried lobster, for example, which is skilfully seasoned, dressed in oyster sauce and placed back in the shell to create a stunning dish. The emphasis is on seafood here, so those dishes are the ones to go for. You can finish your meal with pretty desserts, such as chocolate spring roll with lemon sorbet or the steamed pumpkin egg custard with fried ice cream. As with everything else here, the sweets are Instagram worthy. Diners are split between two rooms, and even when the venue is busy the atmosphere is serene, meaning you won’t need to shout to be heard. It’s not a cheap venue, but quality costs.
