A friendly mall-based chain offering a fairly unremarkable spread of American fast food

Joining the mall-based ranks of Outback, Spur, Ribs & Rumps et al, this American franchise claims to be ‘the largest casual theme restaurant chain specialising in ribs in the world’, with more than 200 restaurants in 33 countries. The plus points: the vast menu incorporates all manner of foodstuffs in a bid to keep even picky diners happy: sandwiches, salads, chicken, seafood, ribs, burgers and steak all feature, with multiple variations on each theme. Staff are personable, efficient and keen to make sure guests are satisfied, and service is speedy (you can be in and out in little more than half an hour). The downsides: even considering the low price points, the meat can be a little chewy and lacking in flavour. The food is filling, yet rather bland and synthetic-tasting – and we dread to think what it’s doing to our arteries.
