Time Out Says
This exceptional gastronomic giant has taken the crown of Time Out Dubai’s Best Indian twice since opening, and although it didn’t make it a treble, it’s still one of the top Indian restaurants in the city.
The dining experience here, and yes for once a restaurant is right when it calls its service an “experience”, is tremendous. Staff are knowledgeable, well-versed and attentive, while the food is almost surreal. The dining room is dark, stylish and contemporary, but doesn’t feel stuffy and pretentious. However, don’t expect to be dining in a packed setting if you’re not eating on a weekend.
That being said, the dishes are loud, bold and a conversation starter with every bite. Nothing is less than excellent.
For better value, go for one of the vegetarian or non-vegetarian set menus, which will allow you to try a lot for Dhs250.It’s the best way to take a culinary ride through the menu, where prices can stack up if going à la carte.
Staff often prepare dishes live at the table, or at least putting the finishing (dry ice) touches to a dish. From a lemon tree to jewellery box, desert served straight onto a platter to a teapot of truffle-mushroom broth, food is a work of art.
Hats off to the chefs.
