Un Dimanche A Paris
Time Out Says
And true to his roots, the chocolate-theme runs throughout – think chocolate gravy, a savoury tart with salmon and white chocolate, and even cheese topped with cocoa nibs.
The restaurant is light, airy and chic with beautiful views across the waters to JBR and we’re greeted with a basket of warm fresh French baguette with whipped cacao butter, herb butter and olive tapenade.
The menu is made up of breakfast dishes, soups, salads, starters, gourmet clubs, tartines, risotto, pastas and mains. There’s also an assortment of cheese platters and of course, plenty of pastries and desserts.
The Un Dimanche à Paris breakfast comes with fresh orange juice, coffee or tea, two eggs, baguette with butter and jams, a selection of cheeses, herb-roasted potatoes, cherry tomatoes and a croissant of our choice. It’s as filling as it sounds – and it’s delicious, especially the buttery pain au chocolat.
The steak-frites is a showstopper as it’s flambéed tableside and the meat is perfectly cooked. It takes a while for our food to come but traditionally, French meals are long and leisurely so we don’t mind the wait.
It’s a lovely daytime spot, and we’re already planning a dinner date at this cute café.
