Vietnamese Snack Food Cafe Restaurant
Time Out Says
Vietnamese Snack Food Cafe Restaurant has a menu almost as long as its name. And there are loads of interesting dishes, all at reasonable prices, plus a decent lunch deal for Dhs49. Heads up vegans – there’s also a dedicated plant-based menu.
We can’t help but try the classic chicken pho as a benchmark. It comes in small and large portions, with the former a pocket-friendly Dhs21. The silky broth sings with star anise and spices – it’s fragrant and delicious.
Prawn skewers are equally tasty, marinated in a creative concoction of spices. However, our other choices don’t fare so well. The vegan summer rolls aren’t the fresh, healthy dish we imagine – the chewy rice paper stuffed with soggy boiled carrots, is akin to school dinners, while the coconut prawn clay pot is stodgy and greasy. Our advice? Stick to the stand-out pho.
Some dishes shine, but to challenge others in the area, it’ll need to up its game.
