Time Out Says
High expectations inevitably abound for a restaurant with the three-Michelin-starred chef’s name above the door, and the crisp white and cream decor and intricate glass piping ceiling work set the high-end, luxurious tone. Staff are friendly and enthusiastic, and will happily make recommendations. Seafood is the order of the day here, particularly the most expensive fish and lobster dishes. The lower priced lemon sole, however, lacks finesse, looking limp and tasting flavourless. The seafood chowder starter, though, will not disappoint; it’s crammed with chunks of (sustainable) cod, organic salmon and tiger prawns for a creamy, well-seasoned and comforting dish. Meat dishes are also worth a shot, the Black Angus being truly indulgent, accompanied by a serving of foie gras. If you choose to dine here, be prepared to splash out and try those most expensive dishes on the menu. The price matches that highly adorned celebrity chef’s name on the door, but what you actually get, considering how much you pay, just doesn’t quite add up.
