Wild & The Moon

A plant-based gluten-free café

Time Out Says

Alserkal Avenue has always been a popular place for all things creative and unique, and Wild & The Moon fits right in here. This plant-based, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free restaurant was one of the first of its kind in Dubai and it does it well. The concept is simple –everything served is made fresh daily and without additives, chemicals, GMO and refined fats or sugars.

The menu changes daily and on our visit we choose the Earth Bowl salad and the deceptively boringly named Rawiflower.

The Earth Bowl is packed full of flavour and healthy goodness, the brown rice, avocado, sweet potato and wakame come together in their sustainable takeaway bowl to form the perfect feel-good meal. The rawiflower is as it sounds – a raw cauliflower salad – but don’t let that put you off, there’s a lot going on. It’s packed with veggies for crunchiness, pomegranate seeds to give sweetness, while nut cheese adds creaminess.

The cheeses are a highlight – if you’re vegan and missing soft cheese then the selection of nut-cheeses here aren’t to be missed. Don’t miss the wild cream cheese made from cashew nuts, we can’t get enough. Perfectly paired with homemade raw veggie crackers it will leave you asking for seconds.

If you save room for dessert then you’re in for a treat, too, with banana cake, scones and carrot cake on the menu. Thirsty? Try the cold-pressed juices.

If you’re a vegan and looking to eat out, Wild & The Moon is an excellent all rounder.
