How to get an Emirates ID card

5 simple steps to register for an ID card in Dubai

Setting Up Guide, Settingup

All residents of the UAE have been asked to register for the National Identity card, and you may need to show it under certain circumstances. This can be done by following these steps:
1 Prepare the necessary documents: your original passport and residency permit. For children below 15 years old, you’ll need to bring a colour passport-size photo with light-blue background.

2 To arrange an appointment, go to one of the 30 authorised typing centres in Dubai (locations listed on www.emiratesid.ae), and fill in the electronic form.

3 Pay registration (Dhs100 each year your visa is valid for) and service fees (Dhs70) at the centre.

4 Wait for an SMS from the Emirates Identity Authority informing you about the date, time and location of the service centre you need to register at.

5 Visit the centre carrying your original passport and complete the registration process, which includes having your photograph taken and fingerprints recorded.

That’s it – you’re done. Your National ID card will be sent to you.
