Nothing quite beats cooking up fresh organic food from farm straight to fork. And happily the popular Farmer’s Market by Baker & Spice is returning this weekend (Friday November 2).
Running every Friday and Saturday from 7am to 3pm until the end of the growing season, Baker & Spice’s popular Farmer’s Market at Bay Avenue Park in Business Bay is back for its tenth season, delivering fresh fruit and vegetables.
The community-led initiative supports local organic farmers with a rent-free space to showcase their home-grown produce, selling it directly to customers without any middle man.
This is where consumers can connect directly to growers, and regular customers can even bring in their own seeds they’d like farmers to grow, or place orders for their preferred food of choice.
Greens aren’t the only produce on offer, as foodies can also get honey, eggs, bread, sweets and pastries from the many market stalls.
Some other highlights include a selection of cheese from Dubai-based artisan cheese-maker Carla Thetford, known for her goat’s curd, peppercorn chevre, halloumi, ricotta, ashed, bloomy, hard alpine rind and reblochon cheese.
There will also be other partnering vendors including Mirzam Chocolate and Slow Food Dubai – serving up healthy, tasty dishes.
The end of the growing season typically ends in April, which gives us plenty of time to have many fresh meals straight from farm to plate.
Speaking of all things fruit and veg, it’s World Vegan Day on Thursday November 1, and Kad Ché in Business Bay is slicing 50 percent off its vegan bowls.
We'll see you at the market.
Free entry. Open every Fri and Sat, 7am-3pm. Until April, 2019 (expected). Bay Avenue Park, Business Bay, www.facebook.com/thefarmersmarketontheterrace (04 427 9856).
