Love saving dirhams but love shopping too? Listen up, it’s nearly time for the 22nd edition of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) and you better start getting excited.

The six-week mega sale kicks off this Friday (June 21) and will run until Saturday August 3 so get ready for a class line-up of shopping deals, world-class entertainment, foodie events and more.

Here are some of the highlights of the 2019 edition that you don't want to miss.

Looking to make some huge savings? Get ready for a 25 to 75 percent sale across more than 300 brands in over 3,500 outlets.

In addition to the mega six-week sale, bargain-hunters can also look forward to the Deal of the Day – where one brand is heavily discounted in one location – with big prizes also up for grabs.

The details for each day’s offer will not be revealed until 24 hours beforehand and the promotion starts at 10am until stocks last.

Get ready to keep your eyes peeled and be quick.

Is culture more your cuppa?

Experience some of the best heritage attractions in Dubai with Al Shindaga Museum, Al Marmoom Heritage Village, Etihad Museum, Dubai Museum and the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding all open for people to discover.

Art aficionados can head to the Curado Fine Art Gallery, which will be offering a mix of exhibitions and education programmes for fine art collectors, and creatives can head to Green Art Gallery which supports emerging artists from all over the Middle East and beyond.

Culture aside, Dubai is home to many newer attractions that will be bustling with activities during DSS. Enjoy the best views of the city from the Dubai Frame or head to The Pointe on the Palm Jumeirah.

Families can also look forward to spending some quality time together (while saving some fils) with a load of family-friendly deals. Take a trip to one of Dubai’s many waterparks including Aquaventure which also happens to be the biggest one in the region (and is only set to get bigger), Wild Wadi Waterpark and Dubai’s newest waterpark, Laguna Waterpark at La Mer.

Looking for some indoor spots to beat the heat? Head down to award-winning Hub Zero, Green Planet, or the popular Modhesh World at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Foodies, forget that summer bod and get ready to feast in some of the best restaurants in Dubai including the city’s Best Asian 3 Fils (officially, according to the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2019), The Kasap at The Pointe, which serves up authentic Turkish cuisine, as well as Japanese hotspot Akira Back.

The full calendar of events will be announced ahead of the festival here.

We've also rounded up the top summer deals and offers, from hotel stays to staycations, pool days, beach clubs, sports and activities.
