Yes, we feel like strangling Modesh’s yellow neck too, but the kids love him and we can’t deny he knows how to have fun. Modhesh World, open throughout Dubai Summer Surprises (now until August 7) is packed with entertainment, mainly for kids, but parents and the young at heart are sure to enjoy themselves (even if they won’t admit it to anyone). Held in the huge (37,000 sq ft to be exact) Airport Expo there’s loads to see and do as well as chances to meet the colourful character. Here are a few of the zones to be found:
Modhesh Magical Forest
Kids can play in a Native American teepee, run in and out of tree houses, tumble over soft walls and hide with friends in a secret garden. With animated games and workshops too, we’re beginning to wish we were 10 years old again…
Tearing around a specially made dirt track on an electric scooter… again with the wishing we were 10.
Kids can ride on horses, camels, and ponies as well as petting smaller cute and furry animals.
Apparently there’s a popular dance called ‘youla’, that involves flinging toy guns around. Can’t say we’ve ever heard of it – but it sounds awesome. Visit the Al Maidan area to check it out.
Don those snazzy specs, sit tight, and get ready for an adventure of the four-dimensional kind.
Interactive sporty games have kids getting fit and having fun. This zone will also be screening the FIFA World Cup.
Arts and Crafts Zone
For creative kids, activities here include drawing, painting and weaving (for those old before their time).
Explore Arabian heritage and get a glimpse of Emirati culture.
Soft Play Plus
This soft play area is for tots who enjoy climbing and sliding. There is also, randomly, a ballroom for those who enjoy, er, the foxtrot?
