Diya Ajit’s best buys

Globe-trotting style selections from this connoisseur of fashion

My best buys, Dia

Mulberry Bayswater bag in black pebbled leather, Dhs3,500 from Boutique 1: this is my everyday bag and it can hold masses of stuff and make even the scruffiest outfit look chic and polished.
Marni vintage folding sunglasses, Dhs2,900 from Bloomingdale’s: these were part of Marni's limited edition re-release of 90s designs and they have a fun, sci-fi look to them.
Pink Ungaro boot, Dhs900, from Parisian vintage store Thanx God I'm a VIP: I fell in love with these ice-cream pink lace-up boots made from the softest leather and with a purple python contrast heel.
Joseph silk shirt, Dhs450 from Joseph store at The Dubai Mall: I love silk shirts and have many of them in varying shades of cream and white.
Kova and T acid wash jeans, Dhs400 at S*uce Lite: I never used to wear jeans but I've recently adopted skinnies and the grey wash on these is fantastic. The ankle zippers make them easy to peel off.
Gold-plated deer antler ring, Dhs75, from a small accessories boutique in Le Marais, Paris: this ring is delicate and edgy at the same time.
Vintage eyeglasses, Dhs360, from Scoop Opticals in Hamra, Beirut: there's nothing wrong with my eyes but I have about six pairs of eyeglasses that I'll throw on if I want to have a different look for the night.
Superga 2750 Classic, Dhs200 from Munich: I wore these in the 90s and found a pair in Munich a few years ago which I forgot about until they recently popped up on the fashion radar again. They've been my summer go-to's this year.
Grey cropped cotton tee, Dhs225 from American Apparel in Frankfurt: this goes with anything high-waisted and is casual yet chic and made from the softest cotton ever.
Sheer floral-printed jacket, Dhs260 from www.urbanoutfitters.com: this is so floaty and feminine and can be worn over a tank top or as a beach cover-up.
