May El Calamawy’s favourite stores

Palestinian actress with a love of grunge and her mother’s closet

American Apparel: I find something I need every time I visit. Their basics are great and they cater to different styles.
Rugby by Ralph Lauren: I’ll find one or two things at Rugby, but I’ll love them forever. I love their dresses and jackets for a preppy/vintage fix.
Reiss: I end up leaving with a full bag, plus more on hold to think about.
Massimo Dutti: so many different materials, I like their quality and find their clothes chic and well-priced.
Alice + Olivia: I love their dresses and jackets. They cater to my complete mix of styles.
Zara: affordable and a great store to keep up with the current trends. If I find a pair of pants I love, I’ll usually buy them in every colour.
Topshop: I get my edgy/grunge fix from here. Not crazy about the price, considering the quality, but I usually find something.
Intermix: great for getting a taste of what’s in fashion, all in one store. I usually buy jeans or dresses from here. I find their basics too pricey.
Victoria’s Secret: I don’t care how many better lingerie brands there are, I have so much fun shopping here.
J. Crew: a mix of preppy, fun colours and girlie styles. I never leave unhappy.
